Inner Turmoil or Just an Excuse??

Reading Rose Red's blog got me thinking about my Myers Briggs Type (see her profile). I am an ENFP. So was Bill Clinton. Like Bill (or is it unlike Bill?? LOL), I did not have sexual relations with that woman. Unlike Bill Clinton I do not like cigars.

Anywho, I was reading a profile of my type and a few things jumped out at me. "ENFP's have a lot of ideas and initiative, and like to have lots of things going on at the same time."

So am I fighting my Type? Should I continue with multiple projects??? Is procrastination part of my nature??? Am I using MBTI to justify my NEED (And it is a burning NEED) to work on multiple projects at the same time? You bet!

The other funny thing about being ENFP is that this Type is often called a celebrator/Enthusiast. So now I know where all that gushing comes from!!

So here is a FO, one of a very few it seems! Forest Canopy Shawl I have made, for my Mum, from 4ply yarn from the Knittery (who doesnt love that site!). I think the colourway is Grace. My first, and so far only piece of lace I have knitted. Yes Jejune, you are so right. The Cherry Tree Hill would look great as this shawl........
mmmm new project.........

It's only an indication shaz! BTW, i'm an ESFP, so it won't surprise you at all that I noticed you photographed the back of your shawl. Nonetheless it's lovely. Well done.

ROFL! I noticed the back of the shawl thing too! I'm not sure what Type I am - can't remember - must try it again sometime... bound to be something obsessive ;)

Glad you've already made a Forest Canopy Shawl - it looks simply gorgeous. Time to make one for yourself!

ha ha. Guess who is also an ENFP??? And I am married to one as well. Male ENFPs are rare as hen's teeth!

Go ENFPs!!!

I think you should find ways to embrace your ENFPism, but that doesn't mean working on 30 different projects at once....maybe just try and manage it a little better, without restricting yourself entirely.

That's what works for me.

ooooohhhhh crap! I didnt even notice that when I took the photo. But it has made for a good belly laugh this afternoon!!
ps Bells, I did have a suspicion that you were an ENFP as well. The gushing gives it away!!! :)

Your shawl is oh-so-lovely (even though we can only see the back!) Ha! x

I love Myers Briggs (clearly!) (is it an HR obsession?!). I have a "prayer for all M-B types" photocopy. My ISFP prayer is "God, help me stand up for my rights (if you don't mind me asking)", which is kind of me, unless I'm feeling particularly within my comfort zone. Yours is "God, help me keep my mind a one thi...LOOK A BIRD!...ng at a time". Heh!! I say, if working on more than one thing is your preference, and there's no real reason to not do it, then don't fight it!!! Because you still finish things, right (even if you do photograph the back, not that I noticed!!)

gawd how do all those knitting geniuses know it' the back? I'm such a beginner it just looks like a shawl to me!

It's because the surface showing of the shawl is the rows of bumps which is reverse stocking stitch (ie what you see if you look at a jumper inside out)... not the little 'V's of the front of knitted fabric. Nothing more tricky than that :)

Oh, I've done the M-B thing, and I'm an INFJ. Not quite sure what the percentages mean (I 11%, N 50%, F 50%, J 56%). Whatever that implies!

Another ENFP here! (also criptically noted in my profile) GUSHING! Not me! or maybe so, what were we talking about?

I always laugh at the ENFP "prayer" and whenever I tell people who know me about it they laugh as well.

I have no idea how you could just work on 1 project at a time (or why you would want to for that matter) but you just do what ever is right for you.
