MAKE. IT. GO. AWAY.

I have been meaning to post.

No really, I have. But there is sooooo much going on. I feel like there is limited brain capacity to do anything except rock back and forth murmuring "make it all go away"!

No seriously. MAKE.IT.GO.AWAY.

I have a HUGE list of things to do before I leave. HUGE. Well actually there are several lists going on.

  • The craft list.

  • The packing up house list.

  • The selling my goods and chattels list.

  • The finding Meena a home list.
So many lists, so little time! Due to current limited brain capacity, and overwhelming feelings of stress, I have now decided to split the craft list in two.
  • The Craft before I go list

  • The Craft when I get there list.
And to make it hard to start anything on the second list, I am planning to post all items on that list to the UK in preparation for my arrival.

Sounds sensible. So unlike me!

Had a great weekend. Mrs Bendi came to visit. We saw Billy Elliott (those kids are soooooo talented!) ate lots of dumplings & Tapas, bought a lot of fabric. ALOT! Why? I have no idea, especially as I am on the countdown to my (imminent) departure. Generally we had a great time! I have found the older I get, the more I appreciate my Mum & the more I enjoy spending time with her. Guess it takes a while to realise how cool your parents really are!

Beanie pattern by Jo Sharp (cant remember the book due to current limited brain capacity) 8ply silk merino from The Knittery in Charcoal colour way. And yes, it is on the craft before I go list!

Re the lists etc: You can do it, you can do it, you can do it!

Keep obsessive lists - I had a whole hardbound notebook for when we moved to the States. Keep all the information in one place. Remember to breathe.

The other thing we did which worked well was to hold a Farewell Day at our place - everyone who wants to say good-bye to you can come to YOU, and bring some food or drink to share, between a range of hours (eg 11am til 6pm) which suits most people. Much less stressful than having a million dinners out with friends, as much as you'd like to see them all separately.

Good luck with it all!
